Kathy is a busy artist. She is a fiber artist, spinner, weaver, teacher, and breeder. Kathy breeds and raises Merino and Shetland sheep, Alpacas and Angora goats at her farm in Woodbine, MD. She welcomes visitors for classes and visiting the animals.
After shearing the animals she dyes and spin to wool into yarn, textured and free-form art yarns. Sometimes she adds feathers and experiments with different thickness of weight and rovings and batts.
The yarns are then used to create unique needle and art work mainly by knitting, felting and weaving. Kathy is an expert – she is a wealth of knowledge – she knows everything from what is the best food to feed the animals to the right combination of wool and Angora wool to spin together to create a beautiful yarn.
Her website is a must see – check out the new-born lambs in the onsies. Kathy dresses them in baby onsies for warmth. It is a website and blog you want to keep visiting to see the farm happenings and Kathy’s new ideas.
