This year the theme of Maryland Day was “Picture Yourself in History“. I visited the Maryland State Archives, the state’s official preservation site, which had some exciting exhibits and activities celebrating the history of the state. There was an exhibit of portraits, colonial water color miniatures painted on ivory, colonial silhouettes, tintypes, and old photos…
and a selfie of famous Maryland photographer Marian Warren.
A fun activity was using the photos the Archives had printed…
and going on a walking field trip in Annapolis and find the place where the photo had been taken. Then, take a photo. Here are some I snapped (oops, ignore the fingers).
