What is plein air you ask?  Plein air (en plein air) is the act of painting outdoors (in the open air).  There are many plein air events thought out the bay region (Annapolis, Easton, etc.).  The Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association promotes the appreciation of and participation of out door painting.  The group has special plein air events and workshops during the year in case you are interested.

Notice the vibrant lights in the paintings.  The artist absorbs the natural light, the sights, the sounds and the atmosphere while painting plein air.  Plein air is painting life as it happens. These are just a small selection of the paintings in the exhibit.
