I would like to introduce you to Mariam of Purple Lily Studios, Artisan Soaps & Pretty Things.  She creates great handmade soaps from natural ingredients.  The soap makes your skin feel good and the fragrances are fantastic.  Blue Jeans is one of my favorites.  It has the subtle aroma of blueberries and lavender.

I asked Mariam some questions.

How did you start creating soap?  

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in September and decided to manage the pain naturally.  I began looking for ways to reduce chemicals in the home in the bath and body and cleaning products we used.  I found that I really enjoyed making soap.

I do what I do because I love using my products and see how much they have helped me and I want to help others.  Skin sensitivities, low self-image, a desire to live more green….I want to help those people.  Everybody needs soap.  I want to go below just skin deep and help the heart.

What are your future plans?

Future plans will include more bath and body products like lotions, lip balms, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner.  I will continue to make jewelry and mixed media items but for the near future, will be focusing on bath and body products.
