I was so excited to take a class on hieroglyphics. We learned about the history of this interesting writing form. Hieroglyphic writing was symbols developed by early Egyptians to communicate words and ideas that they chiseled in stone or painted on walls.
My teacher provided a diagram of the symbols and their meanings. We used hieroglyphics to create a our own art. I decided to create my family tree. It was very interesting to hunt for the symbols to spell out the name of my children and grandchildren. Other class members created art with their favorite quotes and added water color paintings.
This is a very fun project and here is a link and a chart to learn more about hieroglyphics. This website has more information and more charts so you can create your own hieroglyphic writings.
