Today is Father’s Day and today’s post spotlights a wood artisan – Moffett Woodworks in St. Michaels, MD.  Jim Moffett creates cabinetry, bookcases, doors, and intricate woodwork.  He has been at his present location for ten years.  He was busy and didn’t have much time to talk but let me take photos of his shop.

I really enjoyed walking around his shop; seeing the clamps lined up, tools hung within easy reach, wood, and the saws and milling machines waiting for the next job. It reminded me of my father and favorite uncles. They were master cabinet makers.  I have fond memories of helping by handing them tools and watching them work.  My uncles flipped houses before it was chic.
