Art can bring pleasure. Breathtaking landscapes, still-life paintings filled with beautiful flowers, all reflections of happy memories. But, art can reminded us of conflicts, chaos, and injustices. I recently attended a Elizabeth Myers Mitchell Art Museum exhibition at St. John’s College Annapolis campus, “theatre of turmoil”. The purpose of this exhibit of reproductions was to raise questions about turmoil and the human experience.

My thoughts from this exhibit are through out the human experience it has been racked with inequalities, conflicts, chaos and injustices. Art is a way to remind us so we don’t forget. But have we learned from our past. No, we have not.

My wish is that this new year we have peace on earth and good will to everyone.
